Those Who Keep the Law

Series: Proverbs

by David Apple July 22, 2014 Scripture: Proverbs 28:4

Proverbs 28:4

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked,
but those who keep the law strive against them.

I remember before my conversion to Christ that I took pleasure in the works of darkness and my rebellion against God. I even praised those working in it. How I wanted more! That was then. Now, we who respect the law of God do not want evil people to succeed in their continuous rebellion against our Lord. We want to put a stop to their dark plans, for if their evil succeeds, others suffer.

The love of Christ compels us to share the good news of salvation. We are to bring hope to those living in the shadow of death. The Apostle Paul encourages us to imitate Christ. "What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you" (Philippians 4:9). The law of the Lord is perfect. Live in him today. Make a difference in the lives of others.
