The Philadelphia Summer Medical Institute (SMI Philly) is underway and we still need volunteers!
The Philadelphia Summer Medical Institute (SMI), a Tenth ministry outreach program that takes place in the neighborhoods of North Philadelphia, needs volunteer cooks to make a meal for up to 23 student participants from June 29–July 13. To volunteer to make a meal, contact Holly.
Christian healthcare professionals are needed to volunteer a day or more to work alongside student participants during the Philadelphia Summer Medical Institute (SMI). No training is needed. Please contact Holly at smiphilly@ gmail.com for more information.
About SMI Philly
The Philadelphia Summer Medical Institute (SMI Philly) is unique three-week, urban immersion program, Christian health professions students learn to address health needs of the largely low-income, urban community in Hispanic North Philadelphia and integrate their faith and the medical practice. Through service to the community, students are discipled, develop their relationship with God and examine their role as Christians in healthcare.
The program partners with Esperanza Health Center, a Christian, federally qualified low-income health center with three locations in North Philadelphia. Students from all levels are welcome.
