Maranatha Summer Camps

A Peek Behind the Scenes

by Craig Claudin June 22, 2016

Our Maranatha "Mission Controllers" have prayed, planned, and launched!

The fourth floor of the Delancey Building has become much quieter.  That's because the Maranatha 2016 summer team leaders finished their intense and energetic planning that took place here over most of June and are now at the camps, seeing if their plans are working or in need of any mid-flight corrections.

For the past several weeks, I have enjoyed their company and energy.  They include Dora Phan, Andrew Chang, Linda Curry, Claudia Bennett, Seth Humeniuk, and Kate Kempf. Here are a few photos, more information, and how to pray and support them and our Marantha teens.

Maranatha Youth Group will be serving on four teams this summer:

  • King’s Kids Camp at The City School
  • Buffalo Ministries with Anna Matejova
  • Vocations Trip
  • Northeast Community Church Summer Camp.

During these weeks, the teams are exposed to wonderful ministries and learn what it means to see God at work in their own lives and in the lives of our partners and families they serve.

Maranatha teens do a lot of fundraising on their own, but are in need of support in order to make the camps affordable and fun for any family interested, to rent a van for traveling, and to buy supplies in order not to burden our partners.

Please pray for the teens of Tenth Church as they have this opportunity to learn so much, and experience the work of God in our city and in their own lives! Cash or checks made payable to Tenth Presbyterian Church with “June Project of the Month” on the memo line, may be placed in offering plates or one of the oak boxes at the Sanctuary entrances.
