Proverbs 15:10

There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way;
whoever hates reproof will die.

Understand clearly, there may be two options to choose for how you want to live, but there is only one option if you want eternal salvation. Forsake the righteous way of the Lord, and you will suffer punishment. Reject the reproof intended to put you on the right path, and you will die. As the previous proverbs noted, the way of wickedness is regarded as an abomination to the Lord, who is your Judge. And as the next proverb will make clear, this Judge sees all!

You can talk all you want about how you feel about this. You can shake your fist at God. You can turn your back on himfor now. But one day, you will stand before him and give an account for your life. He will not give an account to you. He will not justify his ways to you. He will render judgment.
You can tell yourself there is nothing after death. You can assert that my God is not like that. But you have before you the warning of Scripture, and if you are wrong, you will have no excuse before God that you did not know.
Follow the Way. Follow Christ. Receive reproof for you sin, turn to the Redeemer, and live.
