The Building Committee is considering a quote for a gate for the courtyard, as well as reported plans to present a recommendation to Session in June for a replacement/upgrade of the Sanctuary heating system. The expected cost is greater than the 2025 Building Improvement budget.
The Personnel Committee reported that Tenth has hired a sexton which brings the total to four (as budgeted), and a receptionist. The Personnel Committee received a job description for an assistant music director. There was discussion about the employee review process where there is more work to be done for reviews to go smoothly.
Dr. Gibson will be preaching through the end of June. His brother will preach at the 9 and 11am services on July 6. The remaining weeks of the summer Jonny will be doing research and writing. Outside ministers, along with our own pastoral staff, will be preaching in the morning services over the summer. The 6:30pm services will be covered by our own staff.
The Pulpit Supply Committee, which has overseen the preaching schedules for all services for the past eighteen months, was dismissed and thanked for their work. Dr. Gibson will be assuming oversight of these services and assisting our pastoral staff as they prepare to preach at varied services.
The Trustees are weighing the options of whether or not to sell the 315 Building. To prepare for a Session discussion, they are preparing reports of whether this is wise.
The Session thanks the congregation for their generosity to the Easter Sacrificial Offering in April. Just short of $86,000 was given for mission projects in Colombia, Thailand, Niger, Dominican Republic and Ethiopia. The Session approved the disbursement of those gifts to each of the projects.
Continue to pray for elders meeting with people for pastoral issues.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23 (NIV).
Sincerely for the Session,
George K. McFarland
