Female Christian Roommate/Affordable Housing Search (Fall 2024)

By / May 8

I don’t attend Tenth, but I am a member of Redemption City Church in Brewerytown. I’m looking to either renew my Port Richmond townhouse lease with another Christian roommate OR I would be interested in moving into an apartment (studio or shared space)

Info About My Current Home:
Rent: $1,300 for the whole house ($650/person+ shared utilities)
Lease: Begins Sep. 1, ends Aug 31 – I would need to let my landlord know end of May whether I’m staying or not.
My roommate recently got engaged! She plans to move August/September. We live in a two bedroom 1 office/small guest room townhouse. There’s 1 bathroom, and a washer + dryer in the basement. Large living room, and a back patio with a little garden! The roommate moving in would have use of the middle bedroom, guest/office room, and hall closet. Our Landlord lives about 15 minutes away and can be contacted by phone for repairs and needs as they come up. We are also on the same block as a library and a cute little park. Walking distance of two coffee shops in the neighborhood, and a local grocery store.

Apartment Search:
I’m also open to moving to a single or shared space apartment that falls under the $600-$900 rent range in neighborhoods close to transit, or in Brewerytown/Fairmount/East Falls neighborhoods. Ideally, anything within walking distance of Girard Ave./Broad Street Subway for my work commute.

Questions, or suggestions welcome!

Apartment Needed in the Fall

By / Apr 28

I’m getting married in July and my fiance and I are looking for an apartment/mother-in-law suite, etc. I teach at Philadelphia Classical School, so we’re looking for something within a 30-minute drive. We are both neat, quiet people whose idea of a great night is reading a good book or watching a British baking show. My fiance is in a Master’s program and is willing to tutor if that’s something that could benefit your family. I also have a dog, Winston, who is quite gentle and quiet and loves people. I live in an apartment complex now and there have never been any complaints about him.

Newly Renovated, Fully-furnished, Spacious yet Cozy Studio Apartment in University City

By / Feb 3

We are looking for a short or long-term tenant for our recently renovated basement studio apartment in West Philly. The unit is fully furnished with a private entrance and includes a spacious entryway, queen bed, full set of linens, full kitchen, dishwasher, bathroom, washer and dryer, TV, wifi, and a (very!) large closet.

Our home is a classic West Philly twin on the 49th and Larchwood Ave block. We are just a few blocks from Baltimore Ave, the 34 trolley (and many other public transit options) playgrounds, a lovely food co-op and lots of yummy local eateries. The unit has its own private entrance and alarm system, and there is street parking available on our tree-lined block. We are open to short term rentals, as well as a variety of lease lengths or timelines. The space is available starting February 2024.

We are a family of 5. Our kids are ages 3-8. We will be living in our home above the unit. They are sometimes loud, always up early (7am usually), and eager to be your friend! Our ideal tenant would consider this living situation not just a rental, but a kind of communal living, with potential for bartering goods/services (meal sharing, babysitting, etc!)

If interested, please contact us and we can send photos, do a virtual tour, and chat /meet up to find out if we’d be a good fit for each other.
