Few know the harsh realities Tenth’s global partners face like John Park, a former Global Partner and Tenth’s new Minister of Small Groups and Partner Care. Of his twenty years as a Global Partner, John spent fifteen of those in the Middle East, working in areas that were largely closed to the church. He understands how partners can easily suffer from loneliness as they serve far from their home.  In his new pastoral role at Tenth, one of his chief duties will be to initiate and sustain frequent contact with all of Tenth’s Global partners so that the church can support them in ways that might help mitigate the natural pitfalls of international service.

Much of his time will be devoted to meeting their material and spiritual needs. Through prayer, encouragement, and support, John will provide pastoral care to those serving locally and abroad. John will also oversee the development of Tenth’s small group ministries, where he’ll serve its leaders, and provide assistance as they seek the continued growth of Word-centered fellowship.

John’s time as a Global Partner taught him how to patiently, and lovingly minister to others while fervently relying upon the Lord in prayer. He’s hopeful and excited to see how the Lord will work through his new role as he serves our Global Partners, the congregation, and the city of Philadelphia.
