Proverbs 12:19

Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

A lying tongue creates a momentary sensation. It riles the emotions as it makes the headlines. But the lie eventually is buried, along with the liar. It is not the lies that are recalled from history, but the words which are noble, which are inspiring, which spread light on truth. And so those who speak such truth are remembered for their words.

In particular, the lips which profess the gospel will endure. For the very truthful message itself is the truth that saves. The lying tongue is itself for a moment, for its very lies condemn it.
Keep your thoughts on the gospel truth. Do not get caught up in the sensation of the days lies. The day will pass. What matters is the eternal day. Listen to and pass on gospel truth, for it is such truth that will endure forever and give you life forever.
