Proverbs 25:18

A man who bears false witness against his neighbor
is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow. ESV

Anyone who tells lies against the neighbors in court or on the street
is a loose cannon.  The Message

Ouch! What harmful weapons we have here: a club, a sword, and an arrow—each of these can cause severe injury and death. The club breaks and bruises, the sword inflicts deep wounds, and the arrow pierces to the heart. These three represent how false testimony bruises reputations, spoils possessions, and deprives of life.

Scripture commands us to do right. When it is in our power to do good, do it (Proverbs 3:27). Take every thought captive to the will of God (2 Corinthians 10:5). Use words that are fitting for the moment, to build others up (Ephesians 4:29). Love one another as I have loved you (John 15:12).
