Layer up—Maranatha’s infamous, I mean beloved, Winter Retreat is just around the corner! The retreat has been happening for a long time, and it is the highlight event for lots of our teens and families. As usual we're heading to Camp Sankanac on the weekend of Feb 7-9. Newly elected Assistant Minister Will Spokes will be our guest speaker.
The Winter Retreat is a wonderful time for learning, developing close friendships, and (of course) the most intense capture the flag you will ever experience. We want to encourage you to sign up for this event, and to even bring a friend. Scholarships are readily available, so don’t let the cost be a hindrance. If you want to sign up, look for us in between services at the table in Reception Hall this coming Sunday (1/26), or you can sign up at our Parent Meeting that evening at 5 PM.
Though the Winter Retreat has quite a reputation, Maranatha is perhaps most well known for our extensive summer missions program. At the Parent Meeting this Sunday (1/26, 5 PM in Fellowship Hall) we will go over all the information you need to know to help your teen prepare for this coming summer, including trip dates, details for trainings, and answers to all your fundraising questions. Parents, we'd love for you to make this meeting a priority (and yes, there will be food)!
