The Session continues to discuss and revise the Ministry and Outreach Budgets. These will be distributed to the congregation before the Congregational Meeting in December. At the same time, we thank the Lord for his faithfulness in meeting all our needs, locally and globally, over the past year.
Rev. Garrigan continues to work on the organizational review of Tenth. The Personnel Committee is considering software to increase efficiency and minimize problems which recur because we do not have a centralized way of handling personnel and payroll.
Session approved a Trustee recommendation that Tenth partner with Presbyterian Church in America Foundation (PCAF) for services related to charitable giving. The PCAF does not charge fees for its services and can be of great assistance with planned giving.
Session approved the formation of a stewardship committee under the Trustees to work with the PCAF, Session, and the congregation in planned giving and other stewardship matters.
The Building Committee has settled on a gate for the courtyard which will be installed in the fall. At the same time, the fence will be replaced. The sanctuary heating system is on track to begin this fall, with the expectation of completing all work before the winter heating season.
The Session commends the good work of the Pulpit Committee. Please continue to pray for the next steps of approving Dr. Gibson as our next minister.
The following men were approved as nominees for the office of deacon: Tom Denier, Tom Molieri and Nathaniel Schmucker. The following women were approved to serve as deaconesses: Suzanne Carpenter and Katherine Preston.
Do mark your calendars for the Special Congregational Meeting of November 16, 2025 (recommendation from the Pulpit Committee) and the Annual Stated Meeting of December 5, 2025.
In this season of Thanksgiving, let us all make special notes of God’s wonderful goodness to Tenth Church. What a good God we serve.
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider eve1ything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things” (Philippians 3:7, NIV).
Sincerely for the Session,
George K. McFarland, Clerk of Session
