The Session approved the Ministry, Building and Outreach Budgets. These will be distributed to the congregation before the Congregational Meeting in December.
The following were approved as Projects of the Month:
- January – AlphaCare
- February – Summer Medical Institute (SMI)
- March – South Philadelphia Immigrant Outreach
The Building Committee reported that the Sanctuary heating system has experienced several piping failures in the last two weeks. Carter Mechanical is in the process of performing temporary repairs until the heating system upgrade project can be completed. However, delivery of the new convectors (which are part of the upgrade project) has been delayed, with expected shipment in January 2026.
The Personnel Committee is planning to draft a letter to the new Session to highlight concerns and opportunities for improvement in how the Personnel Committee operates.
The Session encourages members to attend the Annual Congregational Meeting of December 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Do be praying for all the decisions at that meeting.
The following are recommended (for congregational approval) to serve as Trustees for 2026: Earline Schmidt, Tom Molieri, and Scott Sweeney.
The following elders were approved to serve on the Nominating Committee for 2026: Christopher Pontius (Chair), John Ward, and Josiah Vanderveen.
Continue to pray for the sale of the 315 Building as well as our financial shortage.
In this season of Thanksgiving, let us all make special notes of God’s wonderful goodness to Tenth Church. What a good God we serve.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever” (Psalm 118:1, NIV).
Sincerely for the Session,
George K. McFarland, Clerk of Session
