This is a regular monthly report to the congregation on significant highlights from the Session meetings. I will attempt to glean those significant aspects that I feel may be of interest to the congregation and thus give you a “window” into the thoughts and actions of the elders.
The Session invited several individuals to address the Session this month: (1) Michel Hatem reported for the Church Planting Committee that Presbytery has approved a new church plant in the Logan section of the city, the chief purpose is to attract the unchurched peoples of the city; and (2) Caleb Holtmeyer and a couple members of the Philadelphia Bike Action presented a report on behalf of the cyclists.
The Building Committee reported that construction of the new Courtyard is expected to start June 3 with a target to complete all work in September before the pre-school year begins.
The Session is reviewing the role of an interim minister and how that may work at Tenth in the time without a senior minister. Please pray for this whole process.
A Session committee continues to review the GRACE report. The committee plans to complete the review in June and then will report its findings to the Session. Please pray for this committee in its work.
Again, the elders of Tenth appreciate the congregation’s support and prayers during these months of transition of pastors.
“He is our God and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.” Psalm 95:7
Sincerely for the Session,
George K. McFarland
Clerk of Session
