The session approved Rev. Brock Garrigan to conduct a comprehensive organizational review of the church’s committee structure and staffing this fall. The review will be fact-finding in nature, gathering feedback from staff and committee chairs to assess efficiency and alignment with the church’s mission.
The trustees are planning to prepare a brief summary of the proposed sale of the 315 building for the congregation before a meeting of the congregation in the fall. A congregational forum is also being planned for a time to hear a report and to ask questions. More information will come later.
The personnel committee reported that job descriptions for a business manager and an assistant music director have been completed and will soon be posted.
The building committee is planning to install a swinging gate for the courtyard parking area (to replace the old roll up gate). They do not believe this kind of gate will impact the number of parking spaces. As part of this project, the property line fence (in the parking area) will also be replaced.
The session approved a Tenth Emergency Plan which includes ways for the congregation to prepare for fire emergencies, active shooter incidents, and medical emergencies.
Continue to pray for our pulpit committee and our nominating committee during the summer months.
Pray for Dr. Gibson this summer, as he vacations with his family and does research and a number of writing projects. He plans to return early September to continue as our stated supply (with our presbytery’s endorsement).
Pray for our pastoral staff who are carrying heavier loads than usual with each contributing to the preaching schedule throughout the summer months.
The trustees reported that giving through June exceeded last year by seven percent. If this trend continues, Tenth will make its budget for the year.
“Fight the good fight of faith, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” (1 Timothy 6:12) (NIV).
