Hello SMI Philly blog readers! We, the team, hope that as you follow along and pray with us these next three weeks, you will be able to share in the blessings we experience individually and as a group through serving the people of Hunting Park. Everyday or so, you will be hearing from a different member of our team so keep checking back for updates!

The past three days have been real tough- too much food, too much fellowship, and too much fun. In all honesty though, if there was a Real World: Heaven season (for those of you who used to or still do watch that reality show on MTV) I think this is what it would look like. What happens when you put 19 young and passionate people for Christ, from different geographic locations, various walks of life, who hardly know each other in one house to eat, sleep, and breathe every moment together? I’ll give you one picture: as I came out of the bathroom last night, tired after a long day and ready to go to sleep, I discovered that a spontaneous worship session had started downstairs. It was so beautiful to hear the sound of voices singing praise that I couldn’t help but smile as I experienced a big fat slice of Heaven on earth. Perhaps not the type of stuff you’d see on prime time television, but I’m sure God was watching with pleasure. I am excited to see how the next three weeks unfold and what God will do through us and to us. 🙂
