Never fear, classifieds are here!

Besides the friendly writing style, newsy posts, and thought-provoking devotionals found on Rev. Clark’s former blog, DMC News, one of its most practical and beloved functions was classified postings. If a Tenth member, friend, or partner had a need (housing, job, baby sitter, furniture, help with moving etc.) or something to offer (an upcoming event, job opening, free stuff, available housing etc.), they would ask Rev. Clark to post it to his blog, and wait for the responses to come rolling in.

I can attest to the effectiveness of posting classifieds within the Tenth community. I was looking for someone to help me with deep cleaning my house once a month. I wanted to offer the opportunity to someone connected with Tenth, not just because it could provide much-needed income, but because I knew I could find someone trustworthy and reliable within the Tenth community. No more than a few hours after posting, I received several helpful leads, and I ended up hiring a wonderful Tenth member who has been such a huge help to me and is now like a member of my family.

You’ll still find Rev. Clark’s wry sense of humor, newsy posts, and Proverbs devotionals on the new Tenth blog. So where are classifieds now? We’ve placed them in the Parishes section because community is an important part of our parishes, and posting and responding to classifieds helps to promote community within our parishes and congregation.

There are a couple of interesting listings currently posted. Delaware County Christian School is hosting an open house and a 5K in the coming weeks. They also have tickets available for some upcoming performances of Jack & the Giant Beanstalk. Tenth member Meghan and her husband are seeking affordable housing in Philadelphia.

So, whether you’re interested in browsing the listings or submitting a listing, I hope you’ll explore Classifieds and let us know what you think.

Interested in volunteer opportunities around the church? We’ve got a page for that, too!
