In Ephesians 6 it talks about the armor of God, it tells us to be equipped and ready to fight and that we should never step back. It tells us about the tools we need to fight God’s enemies, and it tells us to never stop praying.
This summer I’m going on my third missions trip to Chester. Maranatha’s gone to Chester a lot just to reach out to the kids there because they live is such poverty and don’t have a lot of hope. Through missions trips I’ve learned more about God’s personality and how He works.
Well this one time we were running our program VBS thing at a playground in Chester, and this one girl came in, she was about 13, and she was probably under the influence of drugs. She was running around and being really loud and distracting while we were trying to sing and asking for money. And I saw this and me and another team member went into a corner and prayed about it. We prayed God would work, that he would deal with this situation and have it not harm our ministry. And then God answered our prayer; he made the girl go away. It was really cool because when we prayed about it we laid it into God’s hands and we had to have faith and trust him to deal with this problem.
On missions trips, well during the year we learn so much at church and Sunday school and stuff and we can use a lot of that in our everyday lives, but on a missions trip it’s intense. It’s like you have to use biblical knowledge and wisdom all the time. Satan is real and we need to fight him. On a missions trip he tries to attack us more, he tries to keep the kids from learning about Christ. The armor of God is really important on a missions trip, because you have to constantly be prepared to fight. And it was really cool to see how God worked through me and our missions team to glorify himself and bring kids to him.
