Family:

Married to Elisabeth (Lisa) Maxwell Ryken, June 6, 1987. Children: Joshua Philip (born January 13, 1993), Kirsten Elisabeth (born May 16, 1996), James Maxwell (born September 11, 2000), Kathryn Elaine (born May 21, 2002) and Karoline Jorena (born October 2, 2004).

When I am not playing with my kids, I enjoy shooting hoops, reading writers like Marilynne Robinson and Shusaku Endo, and pondering the relationship between Christianity and American culture.
