This Sunday: 1st Sunday of Advent, Day of Prayer, Children’s Christmas Program, & More

We hope you will join us this first Sunday of Advent for our services and other events happening throughout the day.

9 & 11 AM Services

  • Dr. Liam Goligher will preach, “Christmas Canticles: Venite, An Invitation to Sing and to Hear” (Psalm 95:1–11). Parish 1, Center City and South Philadelphia, may worship together in the Catacombs during the 11 AM service.
  • We’ll sing: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel; Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus; Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates!; Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence.
  • The Lord’s Supper will be served.

6:15 PM Prelude & Service

  • Sarah Shafer, soprano, will sing for the 15-minute Soli Deo Gloria prelude.
  • Rev. Will Spokes will preach, “Walk in Wisdom” (Colossians 4:2–6). 
  • We’ll sing: While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks; Angels, from the Realms of Glory; Stars of Heaven Glowing Softly; As with Gladness Men of Old.

Other Sunday Events

  • The Session encourages all members to attend one of our Day of Prayer meetings.
  • Join us for the annual Children’s Bible School Christmas Program at 4:30 PM in Fellowship Hall. See the talent of our students from 4 years of age through high school. Light refreshments will be served after the program.

Reminders

  • Praisemakers, Schola Cantorum, and Catechism Club will not meet Sunday (12/1). Children’s Bible School classes and CLICK will meet, and nursery for children 3 and under will be available.
