Alpha Pregnancy Services Fundraiser: Baby Bottle Boomerang

by Sarah Boghosian January 30, 2014

Did you know that January is Sanctity of Human Life Month? As this month comes to a close, we at Tenth have the opportunity to show our support for the sanctity of human life in word and deed. Think three words: Baby Bottle Boomerang. Let me explain.

Alpha Pregnancy Services is a valuable Tenth partner doing important work in the city of Philadelphia. They offer help and hope to women and families facing pregnancy and related concerns, including adoption counseling, prenatal education and support, childbirth classes, new mothers' classes, and support for women enduring miscarriage or post-abortion difficulties. All of these valuable and expensive services that Alpha offers to women in Christ's name are free of charge.

Each year Alpha holds a fundraiser known as the Baby Bottle Boomerang. Here's how it works:

  • Alpha supplies churches, including Tenth, with empty baby bottles.
  • You can drop by Reception Hall on Sunday, February 2 before or after both services to pick up an empty bottle. There will be someone available to answer any questions you might have.
  • Fill the bottle with coins, bills, or checks (made out to Alpha Pregnancy Services) over the next month and a half. Your spare change is really all that's necessary.
  • Return your filled bottle to Reception Hall on Sunday, March 16 before or after both services. Are you getting the whole "boomerang" idea here?

Former Surgeon General  C. Everett Koop described why giving to the work of Alpha is so important in a letter from February 2000 addressing the Friends of Alpha: "I would urge you to support Alpha  Pregnancy Services, an agency upon which you can count to provide love, compassion, and support in a time it is most needed."

Would you consider showing your support for the sanctity of human life by joining Alpha's Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser? If you have questions or would like to participate, please contact Viera.
