Admin Assistant, Roommate Needed, Personal Training, & More

The month of August is an interesting one at Tenth. Program-wise it tends to be pretty quiet. Many members and regular attenders as well as staff are away on vacation. It's easier to find a seat at the 11 AM service (even if you're late!), and parking is a breeze for a few glorious weeks on Sunday mornings. It's the calm before the storm, really.

Come the last week of August and the beginning of September everything changes. Students start moving into Center City and the surrounding neighborhoods as they gear up for their classes to begin after Labor Day. Ministries, new and old, ramp up their service initiatives and programs. A new Bible School quarter begins. Interns start to have more of a presence on the platform during Sunday services. The Sanctuary is packed; parking becomes a challenge again. Summer vacation is over, and everyone is eager to meet and minister to the new folks in our midst.

As students and young professionals begin to descend upon the city in the next few weeks, Tenth Classifieds are a great (and free!) resource. Here you can find listings for available housing and roommates, job opportunities, furniture for sale (or free in some cases!), baby sitting and other services, and upcoming events where you can meet new people.

Of course even if you're not new to Tenth or Philadelphia, Classifieds is still a great resource. You can browse our listings, or submit a listing at any time. There's no time like the present, since so many will be looking for help and resources in the coming weeks. We are thrilled to be able to offer this service to members and friends (and potential friends) of Tenth, and we hope and pray that it is a blessing and benefit to many. And, of course, we look forward to meeting many of you come September!
