There are a number of ways you can become involved with Global Outreach at Tenth. Please contact our Global Outreach Assistant to learn more about these opportunties.
Donate Items for Tenth-supported Orphans
Donations are being collected for Tenth-supported orphans for Christmas: Mother Comfort Orphanage in Liberia; Rock Spring Church in Monrovia, Liberia; and Hogar La Providencia children’s home in Santa Marta, Colombia. Items needed: summer clothes for ages 5–18, socks, athletic shoes, black shoes for school, flip flops; composition notebooks, pens, coloring books, crayons, soccer balls, ball pump, Bibles, books in Spanish, children’s DVDs; first aid items, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, aspirin, cough syrup; folding chairs, laptops, unlocked cell phones. All donations must be dropped off in either the marked box in Reception Hall or 3 West (the Global Outreach office) by September 20.
Tutor With TIF
Tenth International Fellowship offers free conversational English classes on Friday nights and is always in need of hosts willing to befriend our guests and gently help them as they practice English. New tutors are paired with veterans and given on the job training.
Host International Students
An estimated 75% of international students are never invited into an American home. You can help us extend hospitality by inviting an international guest to a family or holiday dinner.
Join a Short-term Team
Traveling with a Tenth team to visit or assist the work of a partner will deepen your understanding of what God is doing in the world. Tenth sends teams each year of various sizes and purposes. Those interested must apply, be interviewed, and attend training. Contact our Global Outreach Assistant for opportunities and an application form.
Adopt a Partner Through Global Ties
Global Ties pairs small groups with global partners for prayer and encouragement. Participating small groups receive updates from their partners, hear personal reports when partners in town, and ensure Tenth maintains warm, prayerful contact with our partners.
Participate in Meetings for Better Understanding with Muslims
Meeting alternately in area mosques and churches, participants hear a message from both Christian and Muslim speakers on the same topic followed by Q & A and refreshments. This provides a wonderful venue for reaching out to our Muslim neighbors.
