Mercy Conference: Conversations about Life and Hope

Conversations about Life and Hope: Supporting Women with Unplanned Pregnancies
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27
In the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, ideologues on either side mostly talk past each other about the implications. In such a climate, Christians must formulate a perspective that is solidly biblical – devoted to the apostle James’ Spirit-inspired vision to care for women and children in their distress, to the exclusion of none. Christians must seek to be protective of defenseless children who have no voice and be invested in helping bear burdens carried by women who are under-resourced, alone, afraid, or in crisis.
Please join us as Nashville pastor and author Scott Sauls, helps us frame a thoughtful, biblical and Christ-centered way forward for the care and flourishing of women and children. Pastor Sauls’s roles as a minister, a disability and special needs advocate, a former crisis pregnancy counselor, and a husband whose wife experienced miscarriage, have made the subject near and dear to him.
AlphaCare staff will join the conversation as they talk about their own experiences walking with women through their decision making process and will share practical ways to respond with love and empathy. Brooke is AlphaCare’s executive director, and Valerie and Ann Marie are nurse sonographers who day by day assist clients facing complex circumstances at vulnerable times in their lives.
