The Tenth Church Choir and soloists will be joined by tenor Gary Seydell and chamber orchestra in the performance of three baroque masterworks. The first is an energetic setting of the Nicene Creed by Antonio Vivaldi, his Credo, RV 591. This will be followed by a rare performance of Johann Christian Hertel’s Sinfonia in D for 3 Trumpets. The program will conclude with Johann Sebastian Bach’s sublime Cantata 21: Ich Hatte Viel Bekummernis (I have much distress). The text of this beautiful cantata carries on a dialogue between the grieving soul and the loving Savior. The Lord Jesus, who bore our griefs and sorrows on the cross is the Lamb who is worthy to receive all glory and blessing.
