We are looking for a single tenant for a unique rental situation in our home in West Philly. The rental “unit” is not a separate apartment, or even a fully enclosed unit of its own, but is essentially half of the third floor of our home. The unit includes a bedroom, full eat-in kitchen, bathroom, and large hall closet. [The remainder of the third floor is a guest bedroom and office, which are used by our family but could also be shared in some capacity.]
Our home is a beautifully renovated Victorian twin at 48th and Walton Ave, just a block from Baltimore Ave and the 34 trolley. We have a large front porch and backyard to share. The third floor kitchen has great windows and natural light. The bathroom was renovated a decade ago and has been minimally used. The bedroom fits a twin or double bed plus small desk and/or dresser. We’re asking $650 a month for the unit, which includes internet and utilities. We are open to a variety of lease lengths or timelines. The space is available starting January 2024.
We are a family of 4. Our kids are ages [almost] 4 and 6. They are sometimes loud, always up early, and eager to be your friend. Our ideal tenant would consider this living situation not just a rental, but a kind of communal living. We’d love someone willing to do some bartering of goods and services (ie, we’ll make you dinner, will you let us go out for a date after the kids are in bed?)
