Beshoy is 20 years old, from a poor family of seven in a rural community of Egypt. He finished technical school but he had no skills to help him secure a good job. He was working as a casual builder’s assistant, doing manual labor at work sites. Beshoy’s health was being affected negatively because the work circumstances were very challenging. He had to leave this job and joined a vocational training course in the Oasis where he was trained as a men’s barber.

These vocational courses do more than merely teach practical skills. They create opportunity for participants to hear the gospel. When he was asked about his experience in this “Think and Do” program, Beshoy said,  “In the Oasis, my life and my way of thinking changed completely. I also accepted Jesus as personal Savior to my life. I bought a toolkit for hairdressing and now I cut the men’s hair in my village. Now I have employment using the skill I love.”

Beshoy is one of many who have been helped by programs through “Think and Do.” Mona attended Life School, a program dedicated to the education and empowerment of women who have been deprived of educational opportunities. Through basic and technical skills learned in this program, Mona has gained a new outlook on her future, “Reading and writing has completely changed my life. Now I can read a lot of things such as bills, signs in the street, etc. I have also learned hairdressing and sewing. I dream of buying a sewing machine and working on it and also opening a hairdressing shop.”

Tenth will be supporting these and the many other projects of “Think and Do” with the Easter Sacrificial Offering. Through their many outreaches and programs, last year alone, nearly 30,000 individuals heard the gospel, and over 90 home groups have been started.  The testimony of the impact of these ministries is remarkable.
