Installing Fellowship Hall shutters, February 2011

in The Fellowship Hall window project included new shutters. These will allow us to control lighting for daytime presentations, such as those sometimes given at Sunday lunches; afford a degree of protection for the windows; offer a measure of climate control; and enhance the appearance of the room.

The Fellowship Hall windows themselves were replaced in 2010.

Putting the restored leaded glass windows back in, October 1, 2, 4, 2010

The window in the NE tower stairwell and the one in the NE corner of the sanctuary are being reinstalled. In addition, a third window on the west side next to the Tiffany on that side is also being reinstalled after restoration.

Graining the Spruce Street doors

The sanctuary doors are wood-grained. This is one of a number of techniques used on Tenth's façade that made less expensive materials look like more expensive materials. The door has already been properly prepared, and this is a base coat of paint.

Restoration of 3 sanctuary leaded glass windows

Willet Hauser invited the Building Committee to visit its studios. Six members went on June 11: in the photo, Jane Cappeller, Mary Berzinsky, George Woodward, Doug Henderson with Willet Hauser's Jenkyn Powell (center), plus Dot Boersma and Hugh Taylor. The second photo shows our windows, which are mostly finished but need time to cure before reinstallation.

The sanctuary leaded glass window restoration began with the removal of the three windows by workers from Willet-Hauser Architectural Glass, Inc. on March 25–26.
