South Street Bridge Reconstruction

The South Street Bridge is closed. Those who use the bridge to come to Tenth will need to choose an alternate route. Reconstruction of the bridge will take about two years (2009-2010).

Tenth Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of 17th and Spruce Streets in Center City Philadelphia. Specific directions are below the map. Click the parking link above for permitted parking times and locations; this section provides directions only.

From the west/north via the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76)

To Tenth:

Schuylkill left lanes to Vine Street Expressway
East to the Broad Street exit, which puts you onto 15th Street)
South on 15th Street to Spruce Street
Right on Spruce to 17th Street

To Graduate Parking Garage:

Schuylkill left lanes to Vine Street Expressway
East to the Broad Street exit, which puts you onto 15th Street)
South on 15th Street to Lombard; turn right
West on Lombard to 19th Street; turn left
South on 19th Street to South Street; turn left
East on South Street to just beyond 18th Street; garage entrance is on the right

From the east/south via the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) (no South Street Bridge)

To Tenth:

Schuylkill Expressway to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to Pine Street; turn left
East to 18th Street; turn left
North to Delancey Street; turn right
Delancey entrance is at 17th and Delancey

To Graduate Parking Garage:

Schuylkill Expressway to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to South Street; turn left
East on South Street; garage entrance is on the right just beyond 18th Street

From the north via I-95

To Tenth:

I-95 South to I-676 West
West on I-676 to Broad Street exit (puts you onto 15th Street)
South on 15th Street to Spruce Street; turn right
West on Spruce Street to 17th and Spruce

To Graduate Parking Garage:

I-95 South to I-676 West
West on I-676 to Broad Street exit (puts you onto 15th Street first
South on 15th Street to Lombard Street; turn right
West on Lombard Street to 19th
South 1 block on 19th Street to South Street; turn left
East on South Street to just beyond 18th Street; garage entrance is on the right

From the south via I-95 (no South Street Bridge)

To Tenth:

I-95 North to I-76 West
I-76 West to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to Pine Street; turn left
East on Pine Street to 16th Street; turn left
North on 16th Street to Spruce Street; turn left
West to 17th and Spruce

To Graduate Parking Garage:

I-95 North to I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway)
I-76 West to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to South Street; turn left
East on South Street to just beyond 18th Street; garage entrance is on the right

From the Ben Franklin Bridge

To Tenth:

Ben Franklin Bridge left lanes to Vine Street Expressway
West to the Broad Street exit (first exit) which puts you onto 15th Street)
South on 15th Street to Spruce Street
Right on Spruce to 17th Street

To Graduate Parking Garage:

Ben Franklin Bridge left lanes to Vine Street Expressway
West to the Broad Street exit (first exit) which puts you onto 15th Street)
South on 15th Street to Lombard; turn right
West on Lombard to 19th Street; turn left

From the Walt Whitman Bridge (no South Street Bridge)

To Tenth:

I-76 West to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to Pine Street; turn left
East on Pine Street to 16th Street; turn left
North on 16th Street to Spruce Street; turn left
West to 17th and Spruce

To Graduate Parking Garage:

I-76 West to 30th Street exit; turn right onto Chestnut Street toward Center City
East to 23rd Street; turn right
South to South Street; turn left
East on South Street to just beyond 18th Street; garage entrance is on the right

SEPTA (public transportation in the Philadelphia metropolitan area)

SEPTA (website; information, 215.580.7800):

Take any regional rail train to Suburban Station; take a #2 bus south on 17th or walk to 17th and Spruce
Take any subway surface trolley to 19th Street; walk south and east on 19th Street, through Rittenhouse Square, to 17th and Spruce
Take the Market-Frankford Line to 15th Street (City Hall); walk south and west to 17th and Spruce
Take the Broad Street Line to Walnut-Locust; walk south and west to 17th and Spruce
Any east-west bus route through Center City would be within blocks of Tenth
The closest north-south bus routes are the #17, #2, and C buses

PATCO (public transportation from New Jersey on the high speed line)

Take the train to the last stop in Philadelphia at 16th and Locust Streets
Walk west to 17th Street
Turn left (south)
Walk 1 block to 17th and Spruce Streets
