Session Resolution for Ruling Elder Hubert H. Taylor

Whereas Hugh Taylor has served Tenth Presbyterian Church faithfully as ruling elder on the Session of our church from 2000-2005, 2007-2010, and 2013-2014, and

Whereas Elder Taylor has during that time faithfully served with distinction as Parish Elder in Parish 5, visiting the sick, caring for the elderly saints, widows, the bereaved and other needy church families and parishioners, as well as overseeing and encouraging the efforts of Parish Council to minister the love of our Savior to same, and

Whereas Elder Taylor has served faithfully, wisely and conscientiously as chair of the Nominating Committee, and

Whereas Elder Taylor and his beloved wife, Betty, worked tirelessly with the singles groups at Tenth mentoring and encouraging those men and women each week , and

Whereas Elder Taylor and Betty have exemplified the spiritual gift of hospitality by opening their home for monthly Parish Council meetings as well as for countless other social occasions, promoting Christian fellowship and mutual sympathy as an expression of the unity of the Body of Christ among members of our church, and

Whereas Elder Taylor, through his evident love of Reformed theology, and in particular of the preaching of the Word of God, significantly contributed to the successful work of the Shepherding committee of the Philadelphia Presbytery, and

Whereas Elder Taylor was honored with emeritus status by the Session of our church in 2014, recognizing his distinguished years of service as an elder in our midst, and

Whereas Elder Taylor has not stopped serving as an elder in our church, but came out of "retirement" last year to head the Sessional committee to search for a new Music Director,

Therefore let it be resolved this Twenty first day of June, 2015, the Session on behalf of the congregation of Tenth Presbyterian Church offers immense praise and thanks to our Lord for having brought Hugh and Betty to our church, fondly remembering the above cited years of their loving service in our midst, which are but highlights of all they have done. We therefore invoke our Covenant God to bless and shepherd them in their imminent move to North Carolina to resume using their spiritual gifts to minister in the name of Jesus Christ there, even as we are not shy to remind them, they will always have a spiritual home back at Tenth.
